Yet many African countries face institutional, technical, and financial constraints that limit their ability to access international finance, implement climate commitments, and engage effectively within the global climate architecture.
The challenge is not the absence of opportunity. It is the absence of strong institutions capable of translating environmental ambition into practical implementation. Africa's green transition depends not only on increased financial resources, but equally on the strength of national institutions capable of planning, coordinating, financing, implementing, and governing that transition.

GFCSI is a pan-African public-interest strategy, research, and institutional development institute. We strengthen the institutions, governance systems, financing frameworks, knowledge ecosystems, and policy capability that enable African countries to lead resilient, inclusive, and prosperous green transitions.
